Mertz. Образы колоды состоят из умного и сложного соединения египетской и Западной символики Таро, также включают и астрологическую символику.
Таро Ансата (Ansata tarot)

It is thus possible to unite astrology with the Tarot cards both individually and generally. Someone who works with the Tarot can read his horoscope in the cards, relating the cards to his horoscope.
Astrology, the «kingly science», thus joins very well with the Tarot, the «royal way», as the translation of Tarot from the Egyptian language implies. The Tarot is also termed the book of Thot. In ancient Egypt Thot was the ruler of time, corresponding to Saturn in Greco-Roman mythology, who also in astrology is the decider of fate and therefore of time. Card 5, the hierophant, thus corresponds both to the god Thot and to Saturn. Space does not permit us here to relate the values of the individual cards to the astrological symbols. It is based on ancient experience (see the book «Astrologie und Tarot»).
The relationship between the Tarot and astrology improves the value of the evidence from the cards because there is more in them than their names seem to express at first sight.
The devil is Mars, who symbolically is the bringer of light and the antagonist of the creator — the sun. This is merely an indication, since death, also, loses much of the uncanny terror he inspires when he is seen together with Scorpio, the sign of the zodiac. Afurther advantage is that the pictorial display of the Tarot cards makes the horoscope interpretation easier.
We now come to comments on the individual cards, which can here only be brief. For a full description, see «Astrologie und Tarot».
Card 0 or 22
The fool corresponds to Pluto. This card is not one of the holy numbers (1 to 21) just as Pluto’s orbit around the sun is outside that of the other planets. It symbolizes the wish for personal freedom and independence, and in relation to the neighbouring cards one’s social attitude towards the environment. It shows how the will to achievement can be realized and how the individual fits in.
Card 1
The magician corresponds to the sun. This card symbolizes outward awareness, the prime magical powers of the individual, the strength of the heart, thus also adjustment to the condition of life, innate possibilities, the starting point and ego of the person for whom the cards are spread. Creativity, the power of the sun in the individual, can also be recognized here, according to the way the card appears. It is the card of wholeness, of unity in oneself, also the card of a beginning, of a start, thus of all other possibilities.
Card 2
The high priestess corresponds to the moon. This card symbolizes the subconscious, the soul, the profundity of a person. It is also the card of the veil of Maya, the card of mystery, of the shadow that allows the light to be seen. It exposes secret wishes and dreams (according to its neighbour cards). We find here also the symbol of our karma. It explains for us the inner task of our daily life.
Card 3
The empress corresponds to the sign of the zodiac, Virgo. It is the symbol of the earthly mother, who raises us for our life on earth. It shows us the hidden order which gives us strength and potential to bring in the harvest of our work and duty. Our original social environment is visible here from the neighbouring cards. It is also a symbol of the threefold nature of our life, a number which leads us back to the earth mother, thus to our earthly origin.
Card 4
The emperor corresponds to Jupiter. It is the card of our self control, the symbol of the quest for sense in life and of our unfolding. Our argument with justice can be seen here (according to neighbouring cards). Finally this card shows us also what authority has power over us, for the emperor symbolizes also the father, the supervisor or other official and earthly ruler who decides or steers our life.
Card 5
The hierophant corresponds to Saturn. This card symbolizes the examinations that we take, the teachers, the warning voices, the spiritual leaders. It also shows us where we are up against our frontiers, where we must be humble, where we must kneel. It is the card of the guardian of the threshold, which decides whether we may cross the threshold. Like card 2 it is also the card of personal karma, which sets an inner yardstick for each individual.
Card 6
The lovers corresponds to Mercury. This card symbolizes our questions and the decisions that result from them. Practical thinking and action can also be foretold. Mercury plays the main role. The card stands for the resourcefulness of thought as well as for thought itself (according to neighbouring cards) — for everything that takes place in the head rather than in the heart. It is this card which portrays the starting point of all questions that are doubtful or unclear.
Card 7
The chariot corresponds to the sign of the zodiac, Sagittarius. The card symbolizes the transcendence of self; the overcoming of the animal, and victory over our lower, animalistic self. It is a card which looks ahead, which stimulates inner fortitude and embodies confidence. It is the card of self-awareness, of greater effort. Ideals that do not waver under persecution are also seen here, because the individual is full of expectation for himself and others.
Card 8
Justice corresponds to the sign of the zodiac, Libra. This card symbolizes compromise, also careful consideration, the quest for just harmony in the individual life and on earth. It is the card of the tribunal for matters of the heart, which can overbalance with the weight of a feather. This card makes clear the need or the wish to find in oneself a harmonious balance, one’s own centre.
Card 9
The hermit corresponds to Neptune. This card symbolizes instinct, animality, the argument with demons within, after which inspiration and clairvoyance can become possible. It is the card of loneliness, of self-communion, also of the consideration that the inner light is to be kindled so that one’s own darkness can be clearly recognized and overcome. It is also the card of renewal of solitude, implying keeping silent, the guarding of secrets.
Card 10
The wheel of fortune corresponds to the sign of the zodiac, Capricorn. This card symbolizes our exertions for that happiness or good fortune that resides in the person and does not come from outside. It is also the card of extreme effort which makes the head spin. The eternal struggle which accompanies a person to the grave is expressed. It is the riddle of the Sphinx, which questions the very meaning of life.
Card 11
Strength corresponds to the sign of the zodiac, Leo. The card symbolizes lively strength in us, pleasure, joy, but also the taming and the domination of individual strength. It also indicates the (external) high point of the individual, because, as well as the middle point, it is reached through the Tarot. The neighbouring cards determine how the high point of strength is to be valued because it depends above all on inner maturity, which must be earned.
Card 12
The hanged man corresponds to Uranus. This card symbolizes total inner reversal, the new, the inspiration, the moment when apparently, scales fall from our eyes. The card also points to the need to look at everything from an opposite viewpoint, so as to understand the other person. The blood must flow again in the head so that thought becomes livelier. It is the card of intuition, new insight.
Card 13
Death corresponds to the sign of the zodiac, Scorpio. This card does not symbolize bodily death but the fading away of an action, the end of a development. It is often the pre-condition for a further growth. The card shows how new life continually grows from decay and is thus made possible by death. The card also represents the argument with the hereafter meditation on what comes afterwards.
Card 14
Temperance corresponds to the sign of the zodiac, Aquarius. The card symbolizes the balance that must be found between emerging objects or difficulties. It also emphasizes that there is no sense in cultivating illusions and ignoring reality. It generally implies the middle way between pride and faint-heartedness — that is, the way to the happy mean which alone can give someone the necessary peace of mind to make decisions.
Card 15
The devil corresponds to Mars. This card symbolizes original drive, primal energy, but also the impulse which never allows someone to grow weary. It also warns one not to link oneself only to the original drive, but also to carry the lamp for others. It reminds one not to overestimate oneself, not to regard oneself as an opponent of the creator and of equal value to him. It is therefore often thought of as a symbol for temptation which must be resisted.
Card 16
The tower corresponds to Aries, the sign of the zodiac. It symbolizes a break-out from a case-hardened existence. There is also a sudden realization that totally unexpectedly — symbolically by means of thunder and lightning — fate is able to intervene in one’s life, enabling people to awaken and set to work anew. The card indicates a breakaway from petty-bourgeois habits which have become over powerful.
Card 17
The star corresponds to Venus. It symbolizes love, heavenly happiness, the muse or any other gift of heaven. It is mostly a lucky card because it depends on an inner harmony, on an inner openness towards the heavenly powers. The card is therefore often a symbol of hope and of a healing miracle (but neighbouring cards may make a big difference). It is the card of femininity filled with happiness.
Card 18
The moon corresponds to Cancer, the sign of the zodiac. The card symbolizes growth, the inner will for a departure, also inner preparedness to go a long way to one’s destination. It is a matter of starting out from one’s own depths, which now require a more spacious way of life. It is as if to say that all depends on one’s own knowledge first making the great decision and against every difficulty. Strength of conviction is illustrated here.
Card 19
The sun corresponds to the sign of the zodiac, Gemini. The card symbolizes good fortune in one’s goal in life, the finding of community, of the union for life. It illustrates the outer happiness of life; harmony under the blessing of the sun which has reached its highest level. It is a card of courage, of confidence, and above all, of joy in life, because all that is dark, is transformed into light — lead is changed into gold.
Card 20
Judgement corresponds to the sign of the zodiac, Pisces. The card symbolizes self-sacrifice and change, the belief in a higher justice, since all men are equal before the highest judge, and they all appear equally naked. The card always indicates a great inner transformation which usually grows from a self-sacrifice that has been lived through. The card is also a symbol of belief and of prayer because a higher power is acknowledged.
Card 21
The world corresponds to the sign of the zodiac, Taurus. The card symbolizes order in the outer as well as in the inner world and the classification within the cosmos — that which concerns the individual and that which concerns the whole. It is also the card of security, of being bound like a book. (Neighbouring cards can testify whether the order is secure or endangered). The card represents the final objective, the inner steadiness which, in danger, ensures the necessary strength.
